Kate started in the Film and TV industry in 1984 as a receptionist in a Post Production company. Having gone freelance and working on Drama, Animation and Horror films, she specialised as a Sound Editor/Designer on Natural History films. Working on the ground breaking Blue Planet, Planet Earth series, as well as Disneynature feature films, established Kate as a Sound Designer of note. She went on to be nominated and win many awards, including Bafta’s, Emmy’s, Golden Reel and a Women in Film and Television Award, plus others. She has also spent time doing lectures for various Universities to pass on her expertise.

Her meticulous and imaginative work spanning over three decades in landmark productions like Blue Planet, Planet Earth, and Frozen Planet has enabled audiences worldwide to experience a heightened reality through her extraordinary creative sound work. In 2014, Kate was awarded The Technicolor Creative Technology Award for Women in Film and Television.
