Sarah Wigglesworth studied at Cambridge University, gaining a Diploma with Distinction in 1983. Since founding her London-based practice in 1994, Sarah has developed a reputation for bringing outstanding design to ecological buildings, using innovative materials. Her work is characterised by a careful theorising of the issues central to each project, and a close engagement with clients and end users. Her Straw Bale house and office has won numerous awards, including the 2004 RIBA Sustainability Award. Mossbrook Special School Classroom for the Future, Sheffield was the winner of five National Awards, and the Siobhan Davies Studios, London was winner of a 2006 RIBA Award. Sarah is a CABE Built Environment Expert, and a member of the LLDC Quality Panel. She has a long-standing relationship with academia, and was a Professor of Architecture at the University of Sheffield for nineteen years. In 2003 Sarah was awarded an MBE for her services to architecture.
