London-born Arnold Schwartzman, graphic designer, filmmaker, author and educator, began his multi-disciplined career in British television, moving on to become an advertising art director, later joining the board of the Conran Design Group. An illustrator for many years for the London Sunday Times. Design Director for Saul Bass and Associates, Los Angeles, 1978. Produced and directed the Oscar® winning documentary feature film “Genocide”, 1981. Director of Design for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Created posters and other key elements for the Academy Awards®. In 2010, designed two murals for the Cunard liner “Queen Elizabeth”. Author of numerous of books and the recipient of a number of film, design and book awards. 2013, designed the UN Peace Bell Memorial Seoul, South Korea, and in 2019 created the T.S.Eliot tiled mural, Margate, Kent. 1974, elected to the Alliance Graphique Internationale. OBE, 2002, RDI, 2006. Past Governor of the University for the Creative Arts, and Patron of “The Margate School”.
